Blues Deluxe is the third studio release by the now legendary New York State guitar virtuoso, Joe Bonamassa. Recorded and released in 2003, the album features nine blues classics, along with Bonamassa’s original compositions: “Woke Up Dreaming”, “I Don’t Live Anywhere” and “Mumbling World”.
Bonamassa was just 26 years of age when Blues Deluxe was released, yet he was already a veteran of the live blues scene. The energy and attitude he brought to his live performances is captured perfectly in the studio on his reworkings of B.B. King’s “You Upset Me, Baby”, Buddy Guy’s “Man Of Many Words” and the Jeff Beck slow blues title track.
Stylistically, Bonamassa wears his guitar influences on this sleeve throughout this recording, with generous tips of the hat to Stevie Ray Vaughan, Eric Clapton and Albert King.
A great modern blues album by one of the genre’s hardest working musicians.
